Summary
Our client in the financial industry is recruiting a Compliance Specialist
Responsibilities
- Help to develop, maintain and revise policies and procedures for the general operation of the compliance program
- Collaborate with other departments to direct compliance issues to appropriate existing channels for investigation and resolution
- Consult with the Manager of the Compliance department to resolve difficult legal or compliance issues
- Monitor, and as necessary coordinate compliance activities of other departments to remain abreast of the status of all legal activities
- Provide reports on a regular basis, and as directed or required, keep the Manager of the department informed of the operation and progress of compliance efforts
- Ensure proper reporting of violations or potential violations to the Manager of the department
- Conduct random client file reviews to assess adherence to internal procedures, and issue relevant reports for the Manager
- Assist the Manager in the monitoring of Anti Money Laundering requirements, answering queries and monitoring adherence to the company’s procedures
- Assist with the maintenance and development of training for the staff
- Perform any other cognate duties aligned to business requirements
Candidate’s Profile
- University degree and/or professional qualification in Finance or Law or Management or any other related field
- Have at least 3 years’ working experience in a similar position
- Have an excellent command of English and French, both written and spoken
- Have good interpersonal skills
- Have good time management skills
- Be an excellent team player
- Be able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Use discretion regarding confidential material and adhere to the code of ethics
