Job Description

Our client in the Banking sector is recruiting a Financial Analyst.

The Financial Analyst will be responsible for analysing financial data and trends to support the bank’s strategic financial planning and decision-making processes. This role involves providing insights into the bank’s financial performance and preparing detailed financial reports to guide strategies and optimise profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Analysis: Conduct comprehensive financial analyses, including profitability analysis, variance analysis, and trend analysis, to support strategic decision-making.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Produce useful analysis to assist in the development of the organisation’s budget and financial forecasts, providing detailed insights and recommendations.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor and report on the financial performance of the organisation’s wealth management, fund management, and trading activities, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Financial Modelling: Develop and maintain financial models to simulate various financial scenarios, supporting business strategy decisions.
  • Sensitivity Analysis: Conduct sensitivity analysis to understand the impact of market fluctuations, regulatory changes, and other external factors on the organisation’s financial performance.
  • Reporting: Prepare detailed financial reports and presentations for senior management, summarising key observations and recommendations.
  • Compliance: Ensure all financial analysis and reports adhere to regulatory requirements and the bank’s internal policies.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including wealth management, fund management, and trading teams, to provide financial insights and support cross-functional projects.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. ACCA / CFA or similar qualification is highly desirable.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in financial analysis, preferably within the banking/financial services sector.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong proficiency in financial modelling, forecasting, and analysis tools (e.g., Excel, VBA).
    • Experience with financial reporting software and tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
    • Familiarity with performance analysis techniques.
  • Financial Acumen: Good understanding of wealth management, fund management, and trading principles.
  • Analytical Skills: Exceptional analytical and quantitative skills, with a strong ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present financial data clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of financial analysis and reporting.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues and propose effective solutions.
  • Team Player: Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, with a proactive and collaborative approach.
