Our client, a leading provider of innovative solutions and part of a group, is recruiting a Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Overall Duties
The CFO provides operational and programmatic support to the Company. He/She supervises the finance unit and is the chief Financial Spokesperson for the Company.
Reports to the Chief Operating Officer & Executive Director directly assist on all strategic and tactical matters as they relate to budget management, cost benefit analysis, forecasting needs etc.
Direct Responsibilities:
- Assist in performing all tasks necessary to achieve the organisation’s mission and help execute staff succession and growth plans.
- Assist in formulating the Company’s future direction and supporting tactical initiatives.
- Monitor and direct the implementation of strategic business plans.
- Develop financial strategies.
- Manage the capital request and budgeting processes. Follow financial budget set by the Company and ensure compliance.
- Participate in key decisions as a member of the executive management team.
- Maintain in-depth relations with all members of the management team.
- Manage the accounting, legal, tax, and treasury and warehousing departments.
- Oversee the financial operations of subsidiary companies and foreign operations.
- Oversee employee benefits plans, with particular emphasis on maximizing a cost-effective benefits package.
- Report financial results to the board of directors.
- Risk Management.
- Understand and mitigate key elements of the Company’s risk profile.
- Maintain appropriate insurance coverage.
- Ensure that the Company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure that record keeping meets the requirement of auditors and government agencies.
- Maintain relations with external auditors and investigate their findings and recommendations.
- Fundings.
- Monitor cash balances and cash forecasts.
- Maintain banking relationships.
- Represent the Company with investment bankers and investors.
- Train the finance unit and other staff on raising awareness and knowledge of financial management matters.
- To be involved in employee appraisal along with HR and ensure appraisal are effected based on which remunerations are provided.
- Implement cost savings measures in the Company.
- Any other cognate duties as may be assigned to you by the management.
Qualifications
- A first degree in Accounting and Finance is desirable.
- Must be member of an International recognised accounting body with post qualification experience of 10 years at managerial level.
- Preferable prior experience with senior management role in a manufacturing/ trading organisation
