Our client in the insurance sector is recruiting a Compliance Specialist

 Responsibilities 

  • Help to develop, maintain and revise policies and procedures for the general operation of the compliance program 
  • Collaborate with other departments to direct compliance issues to appropriate existing channels for investigation and resolution 
  • Consult with the Manager of the Compliance department to resolve difficult compliance issues
  • Monitor, and as necessary coordinate compliance activities of other departments to remain abreast of the status of all regulatory activities 
  • Provide reports on a regular basis, and as directed or required, keep the Manager of the department informed of the operation and progress of compliance efforts 
  • Ensure proper reporting of violations or potential violations to the Manager of the department 
  • Conduct random client file reviews to assess adherence to internal procedures, and issue relevant reports for the Manager 
  • Assist the Manager in the monitoring of Anti Money Laundering requirements, answering queries and monitoring adherence to the company’s procedures
  • Assist with the maintenance and development of training for the staff 
  • Perform any other cognate duties aligned to business requirements 

 Candidate’s Profile 

  • University degree and/or professional qualification in Finance or Law or Management or any other related field
  • Have at least 3 years’ working experience in a similar position 
  • Have an excellent command of English and French, both written and spoken 
  • Have good interpersonal skills 
  • Have good time management skills
  • Be an excellent team player 
  • Be able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines 
  • Use discretion regarding confidential material and adhere to the code of ethics
