Job Description

Our client, a company headquarted in Mauritius, is seeking a Financial Analyst.

Location: Cascavelle, Mauritius.

Accountabilities         

•           Financial Analysis & Reporting: Analyse financial data, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and generate insights to support strategic decision-making. Prepare regular financial reports, dashboards, and variance analyses.

•           Accounting & Transactions Management: Manage all accounting transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial regulations. Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger reconciliations.

•           Balance Sheets & Profit/Loss Management: Maintain and analyse balance sheets and profit/loss statements, ensuring financial accuracy and compliance with accounting principles.

•           Financial Consolidation: Prepare consolidated financial statements and reports, ensuring consistency across business units.

•           Tax Compliance & Reporting: Compute taxes, prepare tax returns, and ensure compliance with local tax regulations. Stay updated on tax laws and implement necessary financial adjustments.

•           Liquidity & Financial Health Monitoring: Assess and report on the company’s financial health, liquidity, and cash flow, providing recommendations to optimize financial performance.

•           Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in preparing annual budgets, forecasts, and financial planning models to support business objectives.

•           Cost Control & Optimization: Monitor expenses, identify cost-saving opportunities, and recommend financial efficiency strategies.

•           Compliance & Internal Controls: Ensure adherence to financial policies, internal controls, and external regulatory requirements. Participate in audits and implement corrective actions where needed.

•           Business Partnering: Work closely with different departments to provide financial insights, support decision-making, and drive business performance improvements.

 

Education, qualifications and knowledge

Education:     

•           Academic degree preferred

Professional qualifications:    

•           Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree, CPA, ACCA, or CIMA certification is a plus).

Must have skills         

•           Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in financial analysis tools (Excel, Power BI, Tableau), ERP systems (SAP, Sage, or similar), and financial reporting software.

•           Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate across teams.

 

Language skills:        

            English: Fluency in both written and spoken English, as it is essential for communicating with international and local partners, customers, and internal teams.

Experiences & capabilities

Professional experiences       

•           The ideal candidate should have 5+ years in financial analysis, accounting, or controlling, with expertise in financial reporting, consolidation, and tax compliance.
