Job Title: Senior Financial Analyst - Fixed Income

Our client, a leading provider of fund management, investment and financial services and managing in excess of MUR 80 billion of assets is recruiting highly motivated Senior Financial Analyst - Fixed Income.

The position will report to the Senior Fund Manager – Fixed Income.

Duties will include:

• Assess the economic & business environment and local & international fixed income markets.

• Assess the impact of economic and business trends and markets on investment portfolios.

• Research and articulate investment ideas and strategies.

• Financial modelling and projection.

• Collaborate with the investment teams in investment decisions, including portfolio construction and asset allocation.

• Assess corporate credit risks through a detailed micro and macro analysis.

• Liaise and follow-up on investment dossiers.

• Ensure efficient client reporting as well as efficient  regular visits to clients.

• Maintain an awareness of the latest financial/economic trends and keep up to date with market developments and new investment solutions.

• Investigate new avenues for business development and provide technical support to Business Development Team.

• Assist in developing new investment ideas / strategies to satisfy market needs.

• Any other cognate duties.

Qualification and Experience:

• At least a degree in Finance / Economics / Investments from a recognized university.

• Holder of a CFA designation, or another professional qualification in the field of Finance / Investments, will be a definite advantage.

• A solid understanding of, and a strong belief in, a fundamental-centric investment process.

• A solid understanding of investment and economics theory.

• A minimum of 2 years’ direct experience in asset management and research

functions.

• Experience in investment analysis, modelling, and valuation for assessing asset classes and securities, as well as demonstrated experience in asset allocation and portfolio construction.

• Must be able to articulate investment strategies to fellow team members, staff and clients.

• Familiar with Bloomberg Terminal

• Proficiency in MS Office Tools and / or Python.
