MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure availability of spares in stock for scheduled outages.
• Perform the necessary administrative tasks

PROFILE & EXPERIENCE

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering (energy system) or any equivalent qualification is compulsory. Experience in a similar role will be an advantage.
• Good analytical/synthesis skills
• Strong ability to work independently.
• A strong sense of organization and coordination
• Very good level of oral and written communication (English and French)
• Good mastering of Microsoft Office

Reporting to the Chemist, the ideal candidate will have the following key responsibilities:

• Microbiological testing, disinfecting and sterilising technologies.
• running tests, monitoring samples, creating new techniques, collecting and analyzing samples, coordinating laboratory work, analyzing data, and updating knowledge of scientific developments
• Assist Seniors / Chemist as required.
• Provide written reports of results and communication with customers
• Perform daily laboratory functions as required, including:-
• Maintain stocks of prepared & dehydrated media.
• Maintain functionality of equipment i.e. autoclaves, incubators, water baths etc.
• Perform regular, scheduled activities as required i.e. temperature recording, environmental monitoring etc.
• Make preparations for microbiology tests along production chain and beyond
• Develop and monitor microbiological profiling and surveillance programme from raw materials till finished products

Profile:

• Tertiary qualifications or equivalent professional experience in Science with a strong focus on Microbiology
• Experience in microbiology testing procedures and an understanding of testing requirements within an industry setting
• Knowledge of ISO17025 / Other quality and/or food safety management system would be an advantage
• Excellent communication skills and a high attention to detail
• Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team, problem solving and apply sound judgement in quickly responding to new opportunities and challenges
