Our client is looking for an enthusiastic person with interpersonal skills for the position of Accounts Officer in its Accounting department at Union Flacq, reporting to the Finance Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

• Cash Book & Bank A/c and Treasury Management
  • Processing of payments and receipts on ERP (cheques, bank transfers, internet banking transactions, direct debits/credit, standing orders)
  • Banking of cash & cheque receipts
  • Follow up of Inter-company balances (payment & reconciliation)
  • Monthly Closure of Cash Book Module & preparation of Bank Reconciliation
  • Treasury management (prepare monthly payment plan for cash flow forecast and daily monitoring of cash balances)
  • Petty cash monitoring
  • Keep records of bank and lease agreements
  • Liaise with banks/leasing companies for all operational queries (Direct Debit & standing orders application, trade finance application)
  • Assists internal and external auditors

• Statutory Payments and follow up
  • Payment of Licences yearly and half yearly and maintaining register thereof
  • Prepare and process payments to MRA via MNS (Customs, TDS)
  • Prepare and filling of monthly and yearly Statutory Returns as prescribed by legislation (MRA: Goods and services, TDS, VAT).

Profile:

• • HSC level and Diploma/Certificate in Accounting or any equivalent qualifications (ACCA level 1)
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in similar position
  • Good communication skills
  • Strong team spirit
  • Professional attitude with full integrity and honesty
  • Sound knowledge of accounting principles and practices
  • Good organizational skills
  • Computer literate (knowledge of excel) and experience on Mauritius Network Services software (MNS)
