Job Description

Our client, an investment holdings company, is looking for an Accounts Officer.

The job incumbent will work in close collaboration with the Finance Managers and assist in the day-to-day activities of the accounting department of the company and managed entities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure complete and timely integration with the General Leger and prepare reconciling schedules with General ledger;
  • Issue monthly invoices to debtors and follow up for payments;
  • Verify and process supplier invoices with timeliness, accuracy and completeness keeping detailed analysis of expenditures, and issue payments through bank transfers, cheques and Internet banking;
  • Perform periodic reconciliation of liability to suppliers’ statements;
  • Perform monthly/periodic bank reconciliation statements and adjust for reconciling items in accounting software
  • Prepare and monitor the Fixed Assets Register reconciliation;
  • Prepare and submit monthly VAT and TDS return to local authorities within the deadline;
  • Assist in internal/external audit;
  • Advise and support internal customers on how purchases must be handled;
  • Receive and process all purchase requisitions for procurement of all materials and services;
  • Deliver approved purchase orders to vendors;
  • Serve as a liaison between users and vendors;
  • Maintain a complete supplier and payee knowledge base for payables and cash payment purposes;
  • Maintain an effective communication channel with suppliers and payees to inform account status and tract requests;
  • Perform any other cognate duties as assigned by the Finance Managers on AP/AR, closing accounting entries, general and specific accounting.

Candidate Profile

  • HSC plus diploma in accounting or equivalent qualification would be an advantage.

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in a financial and accounting environment with experience in different accounting modules, namely Accounts Payable, Accounts receivable and Cash module.
